This gives and AKI (average of RON and MON) as 118.

Toluene is already present in most gasoline (though there is probably less in CARB-II gasoline than in other parts of the country). So adding more will result in a concentration above that calculated by the volumes blended.

Toluene like all aromatic gasoline components is "carbon rich" and high concentrations will result in an increased production of dry carbon. This will show up on the spark-plugs, combustion chamber walls and exhaust system.
